The Forms of Circling
There are two main forms of Circling: Birthday Circling and Surrendered Leadership. You may have heard them referred to as 'Focus' and 'Flow' or 'Organic' Circling.
Our Circling events usually also include foundational practices in pairs or small groups, which resemble authentic relating exercises (e.g., eye-gazing, the noticing game, skilful projections).
Birthday Circling
In a Birthday Circle, one person receives the attention of a small group for a set period of time (usually 25-30 minutes). The intention is to be with the Circlee in their world, following our natural curiosity and exploring what it is like to be them in each moment. We also notice and share, when it feels alive, our own present moment experience of being with them.
Surrendered Leadership
Surrendered Leadership is a newer form of Circling developed by Circling Europe. It is an advanced practice, and better experienced than described. You will be invited to bring awareness to your present moment experience of self, other and group. There is no one focus of attention; rather, the Circle is guided by surrender to the emerging flow of aliveness and collective intelligence.
